To save on money most likely these were later made of cast aluminum. This example however is the real deal, Champion Brass Los Angeles Calif is a No.5 spaner tool that was a must have for gardeners and landscape workers. The spanner side was for removing or replacing the flat top sprinkler head and the socket wrench was for removing or installing the sprayer. Great cast brass with company name cast along with the wrench. Measures 5 5/8", the socket is 3/4"
